I purchased a laptop that came with the Dolby Software. Before i was able to connect my headphones and a 'Headphone mode' would basically show up on the software so i can get a lot better quality with stronger bass, recently it completely stopped recognizing my headphones and am stuck with the regular dolby made for speakers.

Notes: - My headphones connect to the Audio jacks - I cannot open the Realtek audio manager to enable/disable the headphone jack detection - I have Windows 10 (came installed in the laptop) - The drivers for Audio installed are provided by the Product support, and are up to date. I am using the same headphones before and after i had the problem. HI Ahmad, I'd like to ask few questions so I can isolate your concern properly. Kindly answer the following:. Do you have a different headphone?

Can you test it to see if the issue is within the computer or the headphone?. Can you also access the headphone to a different device to see if the same issue persists?. Do you also have a different user account? Can you test the headphone to see if the same behavior occurs?

Meanwhile, kindly follow these steps: Method 1: Update the Dolby Software. It's possible that the software is outdated and this restricted you to use a headphone to your device. It would be best to contact Dolby support to know which would be the best and compatible version of software for your device. Method 2: Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.

Go to Settings Update & Security Troubleshoot Playing Audio Run the troubleshooter. The automatic troubleshooter will try to fix issues that it finds and give you a hint what's the main cause of the issue.

I have tried connecting different headphones, the detection system is still not there although all headphones are outputting sound.

I have also used the same headphones on Android devices and other windows devices, they have been working just fine in all of them except for my current setup. Changing accounts doesn't seem to help either, headphones are working but not being detected as headphones but as speakers (my guess) As for the steps you've told me, I believe you misunderstood the problem. The headphones seem to be working just fine though Dolby has a feature to detect headphones and offer a more enhanced quality, though recently it had stopped detecting and i am stuck with audio quality that is originally built for Speakers (less bass and lesser surround sound). Looking forward to your response. I) I am currently running OS Build 17134.228 ii) The laptop i own is an Acer Predator 15 g9-593 iii) For the changes, i am not too sure for anything, i'm sure though that it was not any updating process iv) For the realtek app, i've gone to the folder multiple times in the past as well, but i've never been able to open it properly. For method 1: The troubleshoot only attempts to fix the headphones to work or output audio which they are, but not being detected as headphones, just speakers. Method 2: I've also tried reinstalling drivers multiple times, installing the updated version from Realtek's website, and also installed the driver provided by my laptop's manufacturers, none have worked. Method 3: I cannot activate any of the spatial sounds, 'OFF' is activated only, dolby is not highlighted, this is because the software given to me by Acer is their own version of it, a little bit different from Dolby Atmos provided by Windows 10 Store. Method 4: the application is open and turned on, in the app's interface itself there used to be a Headphones icon when i connected headphones, it's no longer appearing after connecting headphones.
